Nichole Hunt for City Council Place 2

Servant Leadership for Anna

Donate Now

Hello! I'm Nichole.

My name is Nichole Hunt, and I am proud to call Anna, Texas my home. Originally from Alaska, my husband Kris and I moved to Anna in 2004, drawn by the warmth of this growing community. Together, we have raised four children, two of whom are now adults.

With the next election merely months away, I’d like to take this opportunity to remind everyone of the importance of who represents Anna. I have always been passionate about serving others and strengthening the bonds within our city. Over the years, I have dedicated my time to volunteering in various capacities, from supporting our schools to enhancing community programs. I have no financial stake or personal agenda; I’m just a neighbor like you, running for office because I care about our community.

As a proud supporter of Anna’s first responders and a dedicated advocate for our city’s growth, I am committed to making a lasting impact. My goal is to ensure that Anna continues to be a thriving community where families can grow, businesses can prosper, and residents can feel a true sense of belonging.

Why Vote for Me?

I entered this race because I was asked to by others based on my current involvement with our city. I make a point to attend as many meetings as I can, whether for EDC, City Council or Neighbor Engagement. I build relationships with business owners, first responders, teachers, pastors, and city leaders to understand challenges and find solutions. I am well steeped in the knowledge of our 2050 and our Parks master plans. I also hold a seat on both the Parks Board and the Library Foundation.

This election, you will have to choose who will represent Anna, who will be the best fit for the job ahead. It is work — it’s the entire scope of our city’s reach and economy. I am a person who repeatedly visits our Capital Improvement Projects, the wastewater treatment plant, new roads before they open, and the Library currently under construction. There is no learning curve for me because I am already doing the work. I volunteer for every event and project because I love the work and the community.

I feel that running for City Council is the next logical step for me in my mission to serve this great city. It would broaden my influence and allow me to better serve the community.

My Vision for Anna’s Future

Nichole Hunt Nichole Hunt

Anna is growing, and now is the time to shape its future. I’m committed to building a thriving, self-sufficient city with safe roads, quality healthcare, education, arts, and entertainment. My priorities include:

  • Library icon

Opening the Anna Community Library to provide educational resources and programs for all ages.

  • Biking trails icon

Creating safe walking and biking trails: I envision smooth, 8-foot wide paved connections between our neighborhoods, schools and parks.

  • College icon

Establishing a community college to create more accessible higher education and workforce training opportunities.

  • Careers icon

Developing local career pathways to help Anna’s young people find quality jobs and careers here.

  • Hospital icon

Bringing a hospital to our city to improve healthcare access for our residents. I want to see "Anna, Texas" proudly printed on birth certificates!

  • Entertainment venues icon

Attracting entertainment venues to our city to increase revenue and improve quality of life for our residents.

  • Overtime icon

Reducing overtime: Anna’s Firemen are often working 48 hour shifts and receiving more than 100 hours of overtime per month. We need to address their needs.

  • Police badge icon

Increasing support for Anna Police: Our Officers' salaries are lower than in neighboring cities. This affects current officers, but also presents challenges in attracting new recruits.

Nichole Hunt

Together, we can build a future for Anna that honors our past, embraces smart growth, and strengthens our sense of community. I would be honored to earn your support, and I look forward to the opportunity to serve you on the Anna City Council, Place 2.
